Hi! My name is Ased and my wife and two kids live in Victoria, British Columbia. I was born in Africa and return every now and then to visit family and friends in Nairobi. On this trip back home, we decided to take the kids on safari at Maasai Mara National Park, a 500 square mile game reserve that borders the Mara-Serengeti ecosystem which covers more than 7000 square miles in Kenya and Tanzania. Both are home to the Maasi people who have inhabited the area for thousands of years. The journey from Victoria, British Columbia on the west coast of Canada to Nairobi, Kenya is long and although the kids have been to Kenya before, they were very excited at the prospect of seeing lions, elephants and zebra's in the wild. It also provided a perfect opportunity to introduce a little culture shock to my kids and my wife in a way that would make them remember this trip for their whole life. My wife Tonya is an accomplished photographer and she outdid herself on this trip. We hope you like this Travelogue and enjoy the photographs.
